VAS Maintenance Engineer

Tangent International are urgently looking for a VAS Maintenance Engineer to work a 6 month rolling contract based in Congo DRC (Kinshasa)

General Work Description:

• Responsible for on-site maintenance of VAS equipment, including software upgrades, equipment inspections, fault handling, upgrading and handling difficult problems, analyzing operational conditions, and collecting and organizing technical information, etc.
• Ensure timely resolution of client issues and adherence to SLAs.
• Ensure response to network alerts and incidents coupled with proactive communication with customers as required.
• Participate in client technical meetings and cooperation  where necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Qualifications:

• More than 3 years of communication related work experience, familiar with any type of voice or short message product is preferred.
• Familiar with LINUX operating system; familiar with at least one of ORACLE/SYBASE/SQL SERVER database.
• Possess the basic skills of data communication equipment (switches, routers) and understand related protocols and basic configurations.
• Understand the overall structure of the VAS services product system, and have a certain understanding of the TCP/IP network system and the No. 7 signaling system.
