Basics of LTE PRACH Planning:
1. Determine the PRACH Configuration: There are 64 types of PRACH configuration available. Each configuration restricts PRACH to a certain time resource. Choose the appropriate configuration based on your network requirements.
2. Plan the Preamble Format: The preamble format is an important aspect of PRACH planning. It impacts the random access radius (cell radius), the supported maximum multipath delay, and the access capacity. Choose a proper preamble format that suits your network needs.
3. Plan the Time Resource for PRACH: Configure the proper time resource for PRACH. This ensures that the PRACH operates efficiently and does not cause interference with other channels.
4. Consider Interference: Interference between neighboring cells can be a concern in PRACH planning. To reduce interference, configure different Root Sequence Index for neighboring cells. This helps in guaranteeing a higher success rate of Random Access (RA) and reducing interference between cells.
