Am being hit with DDoS alerts on my Mikrotik WAN interface pointing to DNS port 53 being open. This is a security vulnerability and. How do i close this port?
I have tried IP firewall filter as seen below but no luck, i even move the filter rule to the top of all the rules but still no joy.
Am using ping.eu port-check online tool to test:
Below is the firewall filter with action “drop” and moved to the top of the ruleset but with no luck, the open was still showing “open” when i did a new scan.

The solution is under IP > DNS Settings and uncheck that box that says “Allow Remote Requests” and click “Apply” to effect the change. Then do a new port check, should be closed:
