• DHCPv6 does not use MAC addresses!
• Instead it uses a single DUID (DHCP Unique Identifier) per client
Four types of DUIDs are defined in RFC8415:
1. DUID-LLT – Link-layer address plus time – generated and stored at start-up
2. DUID-EN – Assigned by Vendor Based on Enterprise Number
3. DUID-LL – Link-layer – generally used if network interface is permanent or unchangeable. Similar to using the interface MAC address
4. DUID-UUID – 128-bit Universally Unique Identifier
