Responsibilities
Assess client WordPress websites to determine performance requirements, compatibility, and migration needs.
Manage end-to-end WordPress migrations from external hosting platforms to Rapyd Cloud’s managed infrastructure.
Maintain data integrity of all content, media, databases, and custom functionality throughout the migration process.
Perform language mapping and adjust database structure as needed to align with our environment.
Update WordPress configurations, database entries, and path references post-migration for full compatibility.
Collaborate with clients to coordinate DNS changes, including record configuration and nameserver updates, using our custom CDN solution.
Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues such as plugin/theme conflicts, DNS errors, or PHP compatibility issues.
Work closely with the support and sysadmin teams to escalate and resolve complex technical concerns.
Participate in the onboarding process and own the migration phase within a small, specialized team.
Monitor server resource usage and identify high-usage sites that may need optimization.
Keep stakeholders informed and provide clear updates throughout the migration lifecycle.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem—themes, plugins, core functionality, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with DNS management and domain registrar interfaces, including CDN integrations.
Proven expertise in manual and tool-assisted WordPress migrations, such as using Duplicator Pro or similar tools.
Working knowledge of Linux environments, including command line, system logs, file permissions, and process management.
Familiarity with containerized or cloud-based infrastructures (e.g., Docker, VPS, etc.).
Experience working with LiteSpeed Enterprise or similar performance-optimized web servers is a plus.
Proficient in MySQL/MariaDB—handling imports/exports, query tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting.
Comfortable with both front-end and back-end troubleshooting (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP).
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical processes clearly to non-technical clients.
Able to work independently, manage multiple migrations, and prioritize based on urgency and complexity.
Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
