VMware – also known as ESXi; is an enterprise grade, Type-1 hypervisor used for the deployment and management of virtual machines (VMs) and containers. ESXi is not a regular software application that runs on top of an operating system (OS) but rather it incorporates and runs essential OS components like the kernel. VMware enables virtualization of computing hardware. Meaning multiple VMs sharing same physical resources such as CPU, NIC, RAM and Storage.
