RTWP

RTWP stands for Received Total Wideband Power, which is a measure of the total level of noise within the UMTS frequency band of any cell. UMTS is a third generation (3G) mobile communication technology that uses wideband code division multiple access (W-CDMA) as the radio access method.

RTWP is related to uplink interference, which is the unwanted signal that affects the quality and capacity of the communication link from the mobile device to the base station. Uplink interference can be caused by various factors, such as the number of users in the cell, the type and condition of the service, and external sources of noise.

RTWP is important for monitoring and managing the performance of radio networks, as it helps to control the call drops, especially for circuit-switched (CS) services. It also provides information for congestion control and power control algorithms that adjust the transmission power of the mobile devices and the base station to optimize the network efficiency.

The typical values of RTWP vary depending on the network load and configuration, but generally, values around -105 dBm indicate a normal or acceptable level of interference, while values above -95 dBm indicate a high level of interference that may degrade the network performance. If RTWP is too high, some actions should be taken to identify and eliminate the source of interference, such as checking the parameter settings, hardware components, or external interferers.
