QUIC

QUICQuick UDP Internet Connection Protocol

(QUIC) is a new transport protocol that aims to improve the performance, security, and flexibility of web applications and services. QUIC is based on UDP and uses TLS 1.3 to encrypt and authenticate its payload. QUIC also supports multiplexing, congestion control, error correction, and fast connection establishment.

Some of the use cases for QUIC are:

• Web browsing: QUIC can reduce the latency and improve the reliability of web browsing, especially for HTTP/3, which is a new version of HTTP that runs on top of QUIC. QUIC can also support various web features and functions, such as push notifications, server push, progressive web apps, etc.

• Video streaming: QUIC can enhance the quality and efficiency of video streaming, especially for adaptive bitrate streaming, which adjusts the video quality based on the network conditions. QUIC can also support various video formats and codecs, such as VP9, AV1, H.264, etc.

• Online gaming: QUIC can improve the responsiveness and interactivity of online gaming, especially for real-time multiplayer games, which require low latency and high reliability. QUIC can also support various gaming platforms and devices, such as PC, mobile, console, VR, etc.
