Mixture of Experts (MoE)
A mixture of experts is a type of machine learning model that combines multiple smaller models (the “experts”) to handle different parts of a task. This can improve efficiency and scalability, especially for very large models.
Analogy: Think of a team of specialized doctors, each with their own area of expertise. A patient’s case is routed to the most relevant expert.
Why It Matters: MoE is a promising approach for building more powerful and efficient AI models, but it also introduces complexities in training and design.
