Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is a managed Kubernetes service from Microsoft Azure that simplifies the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters. (AKS) offloads the cluster management operational tasks to Azure, where Azure handles the Kubernetes control plane and simplifies the worker nodes’ setup. AKS is a managed container orchestration service based on the open source Kubernetes system. AKS allows organizations to handle critical functionality such as deploying, scaling and managing Docker containers and container-based applications.

Some of the features and benefits of AKS are:

  • Automated management and scalability of Kubernetes clusters for enterprise-grade container orchestration.
  • End-to-end developer productivity with debugging, CI/CD, logging, and automated node maintenance.
  • Advanced identity and access management to monitor and maintain container security for governance at scale.
  • Support for Linux, Windows Server, and IoT resources with AKS deployment on the infrastructure of your choice using Azure Arc.
  • Flexible deployment options from the cloud to the edge with Azure Arc.
  • Integrated logging and monitoring with Azure Monitor and Container Insights.
  • Interoperability with Azure security, identity, cost management, and migration services.
