Segment Routing (SR) is a technique used to steer IP packets by encoding the packet-processing instructions for each intermediate and destination router directly in the packet header. Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) enables a network operator to specify a packet processing program by encoding a sequence of instructions in the IPv6 packet header.
